Hi, Natalie! Thanks for the response to this post. Your use of electronic circuit boards sounds very intriguing. I would love to see examples of the outcome. Perhaps you could send me some JPEGs at: anitamills@earthlink.net And, we should definitely talk shop!

Hello Anita, I feel as if I already know you, from Clive's blog. It's exciting for me to see what you did with that embossed wallpaper pattern, especially the second image - very Mayan!

I too love patterns and did something similar in printmaking: taking some rejected electronic circuit boards and inking them, both in relief and intaglio, and also altering the surfaces with various materials. Results were fun and surprising -would love to do some shop-talk with you one day!

Hi, Dave! Foot powered lathes (AND foot powered sewing machines) would be too hard for me to master, I'm afraid. I have seen some excellent YouTube videos of people turning on a manual lathe and it's a matter of getting one's rhythm, for sure. She should go ahead and build it! What is she waiting for? xo AM

Wow! And a fascinating process.

I have a friend who fantasizes about building a lathe in her basement -- but it has to be foot-powered. She's all about process, I guess. And hand tools!

I think that both Peter AND I thought that you'd lost your mind. But you were coming at things from a different angle. We just saw this hideously scuzzy apartment that we had to knock into shape, with wallpaper hanging down in ribbons and plaster all over the floors. You homed in and saw something that engaged you on a creative level. We saw mess, you saw... POTS! It was quite a leap, but we're the fools now, because we still haven't got around to sorting out that apartment, whereas you've made beautiful things to live with! (-;

Hi, Zoe! Thanks for stopping by to see this post. It was great fun to work on these and to see just how far I could push the patterns. I know that Peter must have thought I'd lost my mind when I got so excited by the wallpaper scraps. But... nothing ventured, nothing gained.
